A Custom Designed Granny Flat in Kariong

When building an investment property, some clients prefer to work from a standard floor plan, while others bring their own vision to the table. This Kariong project was one of those builds, with the design created entirely by the client before construction began.
It is also the second granny flat we have built for this client, continuing an ongoing investment strategy that focuses on adding well planned secondary dwellings to maximise rental returns.
A Client Designed Layout
Unlike many of our projects that are based on our standard floor plans, this granny flat was designed entirely by our client. Our role was to take their plans and bring the project to life through the construction process.
Custom designs like this allow investors to tailor the layout exactly how they want it, ensuring the finished home fits both the block and their long term plans for the property.
Parking Designed Into the Build
One of the standout features of this build is the large double carport positioned at the front of the granny flat. Covered parking is a valuable addition for tenants and helps the property function as a fully independent dwelling.
The granny flat also shares the main driveway with the existing house, providing practical access to both dwellings while keeping the layout simple and efficient.
Built for Another Investment
This Kariong build is another example of how investors are using granny flats to strengthen the performance of their properties. By adding a well designed secondary dwelling, owners can create an additional income stream while making better use of the land they already own.
For this client, it was the second successful granny flat project and another step in building a strong investment portfolio.
